Welcome to ParentSquare!
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, schools in Canyon ISD will be using ParentSquare to enhance our communication with families and the community.
ParentSquare allows you to stay connected with your child's school, receive important updates, and engage with the school community.
ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home.
Canyon ISD and its schools now use ParentSquare to communicate with families through email, text, phone call and app messages! With ParentSquare, families can choose through what methods they want to receive communication.
All families are sent registration emails at the start of the school year, but they can also register without this message. Families can visit www.parentsquare.com/signin to register with either the email or phone number they have on file with their child’s school.
We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
For families with Apple or Android smartphones, ParentSquare offers an app to view all communication from teachers, schools and the district. This app provides another avenue to review communication, though it is not required – families can still view communication by phone, email or on the ParentSquare website.
StudentSquare Apps
At the secondary level, teachers and schools can communicate directly with students in StudentSquare, which is the student-branded version of ParentSquare. The features are nearly identical, providing educators with an easy way to reach students either via one-on-one communication or larger groups. As with ParentSquare, apps for StudentSquare are available on both Apple and Android smartphones.
Troubleshooting Password Issues on ParentSquare
We understand some of you are experiencing trouble with password setup on ParentSquare. If you're receiving a message stating, "This password has been part of a data breach, please use another password," here's what you need to know:
A breached password means it’s possible someone may have access to your password without your permission. ParentSquare's Password Monitor provides extra security by preventing potential attackers from using leaked information to access your account.
Why is this Happening?
ParentSquare requires a unique password that hasn't been used on any other website. They cross-reference login credentials with a database of known breaches to recommend creating a new password, ensuring your account and school information remain secure.
Password Requirements
When creating a new password, please ensure it meets the following criteria:
At least 8 characters (the more characters, the better)
A combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
Avoid common passwords or patterns like “1Password!” and “reallylongpassword1”
Do not reuse passwords from other websites
Additional Security
ParentSquare uses the service Have I Been Pwned? to check for breached passwords. For additional information, you can enter your flagged password on their website.
Still Having Trouble?
If you’ve tried creating a unique password and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to your child's school front office for assistance.
Canyon ISD and our schools use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically syncs with Skyward to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number.
