As February’s wildfires became a historic challenge for the Panhandle, our Canyon ISD family stepped up as neighbors ready to help. In a true display of unity, our schools, students, and staff mobilized with an outpouring of support.
Across the district, from our elementary schools to our high schools, the response was immediate. We collected essentials—water, snacks, toiletries—to ease the burden on those affected by the fires. Simple fundraising activities, like pocket change competitions, brought us together, reminding us of the strength in community.
Our contributions went beyond just collecting items. Many within our CISD family gave their time and energy to help directly, from cleaning up debris to preparing meals for those fighting the fires, showing the true spirit of our community in action.
Soon, our culinary students, along with the Chartwell’s CISD Food Truck, will serve warm meals to firefighters in Fritch, a gesture of gratitude for their relentless efforts in protecting our communities.
Every act of kindness, every hour volunteered, and every donation made speaks volumes of our community's spirit. From the countless unseen efforts to the quiet contributions across our district, the true heart of CISD is all of us, together, making a difference where it counts.
