Trustees Take Oath and Continue Service to Canyon ISD

Canyon ISD Board of Trustees Election Update
 

Canyon, TX – During the June 9, 2025 Board of Trustees meeting, Canyon ISD welcomed new and returning members following the May election cycle:

• Kari Trice was sworn in to Place 5, filling the seat previously held by Matt Parker, who did not seek re-election.
• Jenni Winegarner (Place 6), Casey Posey (Place 3), and Randy Davis (Place 4) were also sworn in to continue their service on the Board after running unopposed.
• Mandi Palmer was sworn in to Place 1 to serve the remainder of an unexpired term through 2027, after being appointed earlier this year and running unopposed in the May election.

Because all candidates were unopposed, the election was canceled in accordance with Texas Election Code, and all were declared elected and seated.

The Board also unanimously elected officers for the 2025–2027 term:

• Katharyn Wiegand, Board President
• Laurie Gilliland, Vice President
• Casey Posey, Secretary
• Mandi Palmer, Associate Secretary

The next regular meeting of the Canyon ISD Board of Trustees will take place on Monday, July 15, 2025.
