Canyon ISD Board of Trustees elections are held in May of odd numbered years. Trustees are elected for four-year terms on a rotating basis. Trustees are elected by method of By Place - At Large. This means candidates select the place or seat they wish to run for.  To be elected, a candidate must receive more votes than any other candidate for the place. Since they are elected at-large, Trustees do not represent a certain geographical area of the District; rather, they each represent all students and all residents of Canyon ISD.  See Board Policy BBB(Local).
